Nestled on the rim of the Great African Rift Valley with stunning views over Lake Manyara, Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day. The lodge is set on pristine lush green gardens and local vegetation with over 130 species of birds.

"Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge is 110 kms from Arusha, 15 kms from Mto wa Mbu Village, 7 kms from Lake Manyara Airport, 10 kms from Lake Manyara National Park

Accomodations

All 50 Deluxe rooms and 2 bedroom luxury villas have panoramic views of the surrounding area. All rooms are tastefully decorated with all the amenities one would expect in a 5 star lodge, inclusive of inside and outside shower, bath, air conditioning, fire places, Wi-Fi, mini bar, safe and private balcony

The spectacular main house has all the luxuries including main lounge, grand hallway, dining room, spa, boutique, conference room, boardroom, media (TV) room, outside fire place, rim flow pool, billiard table, gym and children's activity room.

The Lodge provides five food and beverage options Acacia Restaurant, Simba Lounged Nyati Bar.

Activities & Excursions

"Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge is the ideal place in which to base your Northern Safari Experience. The Ngorongoro Crater, Oldeani, Lake Eyasi, Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Highlands is just short drive from the lodge."

VILLAGE WALKS

The village walk starts from the Lodge gates towards the village of Kibuweni - this is about a 20 to 30 minute walk. During the walk you will be introduced to the surrounding area by stopping at the main bore hole where villagers get their daily water supplies, a sunflower plantation and a dried river bed. This is home to many different types of animals and plants - many of these plants are used in local medication. You will pass a local farm that has livestock with which you can interact with whilst on the walk.

NATURE WALK

The Nature trail starts at the north end of the Lodge through a dense forest. It is a great opportunity to learn about the plants, birds, small mammals and herbal medication with our resident Naturalist and Massai Warrior.

LANGUAGE LESSONS

The Swahili phrase ‘HAKUNA MATATA’ meaning (No Troubles) was made famous by the Lion King Disney movie. Learn basic Swahili words with our resident teacher, who will give you a one on one lesson every evening at the poolside.

MASSAI CULTURE LESSONS

This is taught by a traditional Massai and covers the life style of the locals including fire making lessons, traditional dancing and singing.

TRIBAL DANCERS

On request - duration 4 to 5 hours

STORY TELLING AROUND FIREPLACE

Play and Traditional stories told around the fire place

FITNESS ACTIVITIES

Allow our guide to jog with you, and do stretching exercises. This will give you the opportunity to enjoy the fresh mountain air and the natural surrounding environment.

BIRD WATCHING

"The Manyara area is known for its amazing bird life with over 450 noted species of birds. At The Lodge we have over 150 of these birds including the Starling Lamp Rotornis and D'Arnaud's Barbet."

TREE PLANTING

"Leave your foot print at The Lodge with our tree planting incentive. Plant a tree in your name and we will send you regular updates on its progress."

STAR GAZING

"On a clear night standing under the sky is like having a blanket of stars surround you. These are the same stars that guide the Massai Nomads to greener areas for their livestock. However the best viewing of the constellation can be seen from the pool deck. Grab a night cap and join us outside under the African sky."
